Austria Gold 100 Coronas (.9802 oz) - BU - Random Date. The Gold Austrian Corona Coins were minted using .9802 troy ounces of pure gold. They were produced by the Austrian Mint, who is now famous for producing the Silver Philharmonic Coins and Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coins.

The Gold Corona Coin is over 105 years old and are especially collectible because they were minted by a country that is no longer in existence.

The obverse of these Austrian Corona Gold Coins features the right-facing profile of Emperor Franz Joseph I. He was the ruler over Austro-Hungary for 68 years from 1848 until his death in 1916. Austro-Hungary would split into two countries following the end of WWI in 1918. He was one of the longest-serving leaders in European history.

The reverse of Gold Corona Coins features the double-headed eagle wearing the crown of Austria. “CORONÆ’ is minted at the top of the coin along with “MDCCCCXV” which is 1915 in Roman numerals.
